The ceremony took place under a beautiful arch, next to a private lake on a perfect Michigan summer night. The bride and groom were surrounded by family and friends, and their bridal party included lost of adorable kids.
Just over a month ago I received a call from Karson asking if I would be available to photograph their backyard wedding ceremony and family photos right here in Howell, Michigan. He found me on social media and I was honored to be asked to capture this special day in their lives. They were coming to Howell from out of state and I didn’t have a chance to meet before the wedding day. At the last minute my husband, Jeff, was able to come with me and be my second shooter for the day.
We walked into the guys getting ready room and the friendly, fun, enthusiastic guys were just finishing getting dressed, but almost every one of them was struggling with tying their ties – you know the ones you wear one time a year and have to re-learn every time you need to tie it. Thank goodness I brought Jeff – and he has a lot of practice – he tied most of their ties and they were ready for groomsmen photos.
The ceremony had such a personal touch with each of their mothers offering a special blessing over their child, and this wedding union, and so many children being part of the wedding party. These were some of my favorite parts of their ceremony. We had a great time getting to spend the evening with Lia and Karson and their families. It was so fun to see the love they have for each other and celebrate this beautiful union of their lives together.
Lia and Karson, thank you for giving us the opportunity to capture your special day. Thank you for trusting me even though we had never met. Thank you for being so easy going and such a pleasure to work with. Jeff and I had a wonderful evening with your family and we wish you many, many years of happiness.
