I was so excited when my new AJ friend Liz Binder was looking for someone take her extended family pictures. I’m not sure I was thinking straight, but I volunteered right away. Liz is also an amazing photographer in the area and I was so nervous that I would be able to do a great job and capture her family in natural, joyful photos. We only had one night to make these photos work, so I was also praying that the weather and the kids would cooperate with me.
We decided to take them at Danada House, which is such a cute location. I had never shot there before and I loved the cute little buildings, the white fences, the green door, the red bricks and especially the fun water fountain. It’s a very popular wedding venue, but we decided to do our shoot on a Monday evening, and we had it completely to ourselves….well, not completely, we had plenty of mosquitoes!!
I was so excited to be shooting for another AJ photographer because I knew that she would have the family dressed in wonderful, coordinated clothes, without being too matchy…..and I was totally right!! I might have jumped for joy when they got out of their cars, they all looked so great and the colors were perfect for the location. Besides, how could you not win with little girls in twirly dresses!!
I LOVE everything about how these turned out, the lighting, the colors and the scenery. I especially love the one of the kids playing in the fountain, sometimes the best photos are when you just let everyone relax and play. Thank you Liz for trusting me to capture your family, it was so much fun!!
